Today we're excited to rollout a significant change to Lingo that will provide you with more flexibility, control and efficiency when distributing your assets. We've re-imaged the Lingo platform by putting portals at the center of Lingo's sharing functionality.
Portals are custom content hubs that contain kits. Think of them as branded websites that your team members or external partners can access and self serve the content they need. Previously, your workspace was limited to a single, non-customizable portal, which served as the landing page for all your users. We heard feedback that this was too restrictive—you couldn’t for example reorder kits in a portal, or create separate portals for the different teams or partners you needed to distribute content to. Now, that’s all changed.
You can now create unlimited portals, each designed for a specific audience—whether it's internal teams, agencies, sales partners, or clients. Each portal can be uniquely structured to deliver the right content to the right people, all in a polished and professional way that reflects your brand. Let's dive into how it all works!
If you're an admin in your workspace you'll see a newly designed dashboard that has two sections - one for kits, one for portals. In the portals section you'll see there are already portals created for you. These portals were automatically created for you based on your user permissions in the old architecture - this ensures everyone on your team still has access to the same content as they did before.
When you open your portal you'll see an insert panel on the left side. This panel allows you to add kits and other types of contextual information to your portal page. You'll also notice that you can select and reorder your kits so they display in exactly the right order. To change the appearance of the portal you can select "Configure" in the upper right corner. This will display a theming panel where you can control the header image, portal title, font and accent color.
Once your portal is configured the way you like, you can either invite other team members to access the portal, or for customers in Lingo's enterprise tier you can make the portal public, apply a custom domain, and allow anyone with the link to access the portal. When a team member or visitor opens the portal, they'll see the portal page you designed, along with all the kits inside the portal.
We’ve also made theming more powerful than ever with per-portal and even per-kit overrides! If you're in Lingo's enterprise tier and you’re managing multiple brands or working with different clients, you can now apply unique colors, fonts, and themes to each portal or kit, ensuring every page is perfectly on-brand.
Below are a few common examples of how you can use Lingo's new portal functionality.
Let's imagine you're using Lingo to centralize and distribute assets to your organization to help ensure consistency and improve productivity. Instead of inviting all your team members to a single portal, you can now build dedicated portals for reach team ensuring each department sees only the most relevant content. You could create:
By leveraging Lingo’s portal functionality, you can provide the right assets to the right people—whether they’re internal teams, external partners, or the general public—without compromising organization or security.
If your company manages multiple brands under one organization, keeping assets organized and maintaining a distinct identity for each brand can be challenging. Previously, all your assets had to live in a single portal, making it difficult to give each brand its own unique look and feel. With Lingo’s new portal functionality, you can now create a dedicated portal for each brand. Each portal can be independently branded with custom colors, logos, and layouts—so when employees, agencies, or external partners access a portal, they see an experience that feels on brand. You could create:
By structuring portals this way, you prevent confusion, improve asset discoverability, and ensure that every brand maintains its distinct identity within a shared system.
If your business relies on reseller partnerships to distribute products across different regions, you know how complex asset management can become. Each region may have unique regulations, pricing structures, and promotional strategies, making it essential to ensure that resellers only access the materials relevant to their specific region.
Previously, all reseller assets had to be stored in a single portal, forcing partners to sort through files that weren’t intended for them. This often led to confusion, misused assets, and potential compliance issues.
With Lingo’s portals, you can now create dedicated hubs for each reseller or region, ensuring they only see the content designed for their market. This not only streamlines distribution but also reduces the risk of outdated or incorrect materials being used. You could create:
By segmenting portals this way, resellers get a curated, relevant experience—eliminating confusion and ensuring they always have access to the most up-to-date assets tailored to their specific needs.
We hope that portals make distributing your content easier than ever. If you have any questions or feedback we'd love to hear from you.
Thanks! The Lingo team.
